“…destroying those who destroy the earth.” Wow! I had to look up the context. I have always pointed out that the first directive in Genesis was to care for the earth, but I did not realize that it comes full circle in Revelation. Thank you for that connection.

I literally felt nauseous reading their words here. They are not the words of Jesus. Thank you for your clear, presice writing. This government does not represent me as a follow of Jesus. The right response is weeping, mourning, lament and prayer along with using our voices and feet to show the real Jesus.

“I’m requesting that the Republican senators do that immediately. You don’t have to take a fast vote. Don’t worry about Easter going home. In fact… make this one for Jesus, okay? Make this one for Jesus. That’s what I tell them. It would be a damn good thing.” The crowd cheered and applauded".

As a retired pastor of a responsible active liberal church (UCC) I am appalled at the use of Jesus to pass a bill that would alienate over half the population of the country that's foundation is technically ( in their eyes) founded on a Jesus that *they* claim in *their* name... which is not the Jesus of the scripture I preach

“But also some of the Jewish exorcists, who went from place to place, attempted to use the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had the evil spirits, saying, “I order you in the name of Jesus whom Paul preaches!” But the evil spirit responded and said to them, “I recognize Jesus, and I know of Paul, but who are you?” And the man in whom was the evil spirit, pounced on them and subdued all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”

I’d be really careful about invoking that name. ❤️

Thank you for this crystal clear exposure of the evil that is being done in God‘s name.

What’s presently occurring reminds me of “divinely anointed” kings doing whatever they wanted, because they claimed to be divinely appointed by God. And because of this supposed divine authority bestowed upon their kingship by God, they used that to legitimize anything they wanted, including the most blatant and horrible evil.

And that is exactly what is happening now.

WOW! I’m in tears. TANK YOU! “As church history clearly shows us, whenever the sword and the cross are fused together, it is the cross that is bent in submission to the sword.”. Thanks for fighting THE GOOD FIGHT the right way!

Excellent Ben, thank you. It is unfortunate that many who claim to follow Christ aren't actually following him at all. Custodians of creation care, protect, defend and wisely govern.

The name of Jesus has become to some in political office as something to use solely to compel others to do their own personal will; never the will of God. As you stated, it reduces Jesus to the role of mascot. I would add that it uses Jesus like a talisman or charm as well. What an abomination.

Thank you for your posts on this position. I'm seeing what you're saying here in clarity, so thank you for speaking up. Jesus is truly our savior and the true light of the world. Forgiveness, mercy, and love. Jesus is king, however His kingdom is not of this earth. We're called to love like Jesus.

This really is taking the Lord's name in vain IMO

Again, thank you for uplifting our hearts!

Amen.

I think that all these people would benefit from being silent in God's presence. If they can hear, it will not approve of their actions.

I also think they are stirring up defining any non-Maga person as evil and the devil so they will feel justified killing us.
