On Saturday, August 1st, the president posted an AI picture of himself kissing a golden crucifix with an American flag waving behind him on his Truth Social account.
I cannot understand how people, Christians, everyone, do not see this angry man as the devil, or close to it. He is evil, only cares about himself, everything gold and power. I am scared for our country, I am so scared.
Trump doesn’t need Christianity to govern his conscience. He needs it for set decoration. A golden crucifix here, a Bible photo op there, and suddenly cruelty gets a halo.
Performative Christianity works because it asks nothing of the leader and everything of his followers. He gets divine authority. They get permission to mistake loyalty for faith. Meanwhile, Jesus remains outside with the hungry, the immigrant, and everyone being harmed by the man kissing his jewelry.
I agree with you Vicki, I’ve been saying and thinking the same thing. The Heritage Foundation is a huge part of Trump’s administration they are White Christian Nationalists. These are the so called Think Tanks, Stephen Miller is the one who is leading this false religious narrative from the Old Testament. I’ve said many times these are those who need to be removed along with Trump. Also Pete Hegseth who leads our Military. They are phony and as such need to be called out. So I appreciate it when Christians take a stand for the Truth which is the Gospels
With approximately **2.4 to 2.5 billion Christians** worldwide, nearly **30% of the world's population** I often wonder why the Christian community, across its many denominations, is not more unified in providing moral guidance on the significant political, social, and ethical issues of our time.
Is it because the Church believes these matters should remain outside the political sphere? Or is it that the ongoing struggle between good and evil is simply part of the human condition that must unfold according to God's greater plan?
Christianity remains the world's largest religion and is generally divided into three major branches:
• Roman Catholic: ~1.4 billion
• Protestant: ~900 million
• Eastern Orthodox: ~220–260 million
For perspective, the world's major religions are approximately:
• Christianity: ~2.4–2.5 billion
• Islam: ~2.0 billion
• Hinduism: ~1.2 billion
• Buddhism: ~500 million
• Judaism: ~15–16 million
Roughly **one out of every three people on Earth identifies as Christian**. Given those numbers, it is worth reflecting on how faith communities can best contribute to moral leadership, compassion, justice, and constructive dialogue in society.
It is the enduring greed of mankind that has brought us to this place. As it is written, many choose to close their eyes to the truth, burying their heads in the sand like the proverbial ostrich, unwilling to discern the signs of the times.
Only when their storehouses are empty and they can no longer provide bread for their families will many come to realize how greatly they have been deceived and how mistaken their choices have been.
Yet I remain hopeful. Throughout Scripture, when humanity has wandered far from righteousness, God has never abandoned His creation. I believe that, in His perfect time, a divine and celestial intervention will come to restrain the chaos that has enveloped our world, bringing justice, mercy, and the fulfillment of His sovereign purpose.
May we all seek wisdom, humility, and discernment, for “Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and whose hope is in Him.” (Jeremiah 17:7)

Alongside this very public display of perceived Christian loyalty, so much of what this administration carries out is completely antithetical to the teachings of Jesus. Gutting USAID causing hundreds of thousands of deaths around the world, stripping food assistance, healthcare, veteran protections, environmental protections, food protections, and utterly cruel treatment towards immigrants, all while carrying out senseless wars are just a few examples of many that contradict the message of Jesus.
And we have the occupant of the White House who uses expletives on a regular basis. Those in the administration who claim to be "Christians" are total hypocrites. It's disgusting.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I'm sure that there are many of us who feel the same way.
Hard to believe any of these performative Christians actually believe in God. Who cares what others judge us to be? God sees us as we are, not what we pretend to be. And that's the only judgement that matters.
I am interested in the topic, thank you, but when bringing up Russia, you seem out of your depth re how things work there. There are major differences in their situation and you can't just throw Putin in with the rest of the guys- one of them being that overall religion was weeded out for many decades and normalizing it through showing statesmen participation was extremely important; second, all religions there are protected and respected in the same manner and also there's no aggressive anti-islamic sentiment like here. There is a footage of Putin kissing the Quran gifted to him (simply because he is a president of Muslims as well as everyone else, and respects their co stituents' religions). Imagine Trump doing this.

I am concerned with the entire world. Trump is Evil Incarnate.

Something about Fascism
Kissing a crucifix,
Standing in front of the American flag
White-washed sepulchres. The New Testament warns us about superficial Christianity.
With so many Old Testament 'Christians' in Protestantism, Christ's teachings may be overlooked.

Thoughts And Rhymes On Modern Times
The National Steeple
Jul 22, 2026
America is a Christian nation.
For goodness sake, give me a break.
The poor, the hungry the weak and the least are now policed.
D.C. says we’re conned and fleeced.
Fake Christians say “shish.”
Find your own loaf find your own fish.
The fake Christians scream theft then they scream fraud.
Collection plates are clinking throughout the land.
Churches buying property with a biblical band.
They testify on Sunday and falsify on Monday.
Fraudulent prayers under the national steeple.
Real Christians way too sheeple.
Hard to believe any of these performative Christians actually believe in God. Who cares what others judge us to be? God sees us as we are, not what we pretend to be. And that's the only judgement that matters.
Thank you for your article. I was shocked when I saw his blasphemous post. Does he even know the difference between the cross and the crucifix.
He's not even Catholic

Another day, another egregious assault on Christian values.
Excellent, I agree whole-heartedly. Thank you and keep writing!
Thank you for a wise and coherent post.
